    R. Kelly Black Panties CD

2013 looks like the year R. Kelly starts winning big again after few years in the wilderness of musical success.

After a well received performance at the BET Awards in June, a new feature on Lady Gaga’s third studio album “ARTPOP” on a song called “Do What U Want” – the king of R&B music will release his 12th record on December 10.

The singer from Chicago has released three songs from the project so far, he started in July with “My Story,” that was followed by “Genius” in September and “Cookie” earlier this month.

The 2 Chainz-assisted single “My Story” is currently making some moves on urban radio and “Genius” is expected to perform decently on the urban AC chart.

According to R. Kelly he collaborated with Alicia Keys, Ludacris, Future and Twista on “Black Panties.”

A radio rip of a song titled “Tear It Up” featuring Future leaked online in September but it never got officially released by the singer’s label.

The controversy also led to the firing of the employees that made the picture possible.

The pop star continued posting her sexy photos as if nothing happened.

  • Jennifer Hudson Debuts ‘I Can’t Describe (The Way I Feel)’ Ft. T.I. Produced By Pharrell

    Jennifer Hudson Pharell

It is totally cool now to be retro when it comes to making R&B music hits.

After finding success with Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines,” superproducer Pharrell takes Jennifer Hudson on the same route for her new single “I Can’t Describe (The Way I Feel)” that premiered on Saturday.

The disco-tinged song also features a verse from rapper T.I. who also contributed to turning “Blurred Lines” into a monster hit.

The hip hop star from Atlanta keeps up with the upbeat spirit of the song talking about all the fine things he has in store for his lady love.

Jennifer Hudson said that she just wants to make music fans feel good that is the reason why she is taking them back to that golden era for Soul music supporters.

Pharrell also voiced the pleasure he had doing “I Can’t Describe (The Way I Feel)” with J-Hud. He said the following on Twitter:

“I love when artists jump out the window for feel good music: I Can’t Describe (The Way I Feel) by @IAMJHUD feat @Tip.”

“I Can’t Describe (The Way I Feel)” is pretty good and we think it is safe to say that Pharrell has found a winning formula.

You take an oldie-inspired beat, you add fun and upbeat lyrics, mixed with a touch of edgy modernity in the form of a cool rapper – wash, rinse and repeat – you get an R&B hit.

This could become a template for R&B artists to become mainstream again. You can listen to it below:

Jennifer Hudson is reportedly working on the follow-up to her 2011’s album “I Remember Me” that was certified gold in the US.

Salaam Remi, RedOne and Timbaland have all contributed to the project.

  • Justin Timberlake Unleashes New ‘TKO’ Single

    Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake who has the best-selling album of the year with “The 20/20 Experience” that he released in March is not yet satisfied.

Timberlake wants to continue his winning streak with the follow-up “The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2” that will be released on September 30 via RCA.

After the project’s first single “Take Back the Night” failed to blow up the charts like Mr. Timberlake’s previous tracks, the “Mirrors” singer unleashed the second single on Thursday.

It is a track called “TKO” that was produced by his frequent collaborator Timbaland. The legendary producer can even be heard at the beginning of the song.

“TKO” is a nice cross between disco and hip-hop that is over seven minute long.

The former ‘N Sync leader has repeatedly stated that his new album will be slightly darker in spirit than the first part that sounded more upbeat and took a sunnier look on things.

If his artistic goals are laudable – it is not certain that music fans will respond with the same fervor to the new songs.

“The 20/20 Experience” came after a long musical hiatus for the singer turned actor and part 2 may appear repetitive to those looking to justify some kind of Justin fatigue.

“TKO” that debuted online last night was not met with a huge enthusiasm. This could be temporary, since a 7-minute track might be too much to digest in the Twitter age.

In ten days we will be able to make a full assessment, when “The 20/20 Experience 2 of 2” is made available in full.

In related Justin Timberlake news, he is also promoting his new movie “Runner, Runner” a crime-drama with Ben Affleck that was produced by Leonardo DiCaprio.

The film opens in theater on October 4. While promoting this thriller type flick in Brazil earlier this month, an entertainment reporter named Sabrina Sato gave the married artist a mold of her derriere.

Timberlake’s reaction at the five-minute mark in the video below is priceless.

  • R. Kelly ‘Genius’ Single To Hit iTunes On September 24

    R. Kelly

Few days after releasing his new single “Genius,” that was well received by music critics and R&B music fans, R. Kelly is making his presence felt on social media.

Since the premiere of the track, Kelly shared two photos, where he can be seen in streetwear. The “Love Letter” singer used the opportunity to thank his fans for backing him on the new release.

“Genius” is the second single issued from the “Black Panties” album that will be made available on November 11 through RCA Records.

Last month the Chicago native announced that Alicia Keys, Ludacris, 2 Chainz, Future and Twista would appear on the new sex-oriented disc.

The singer from Illinois then hosted a party for “Black Panties” in Atalanta in early September where he played 13 tracks from the project for journalists and critics but vocals from Keys and Twista were notably absent.

At this point it is not clear if the two artists will be featured on the deluxe version of “Black Panties” or if their songs did not make the final cut.

Either way, Kelly seems to be in a fighting mood this time around and he will do his best to turn the album into a hit.

In the meantime, R. Kelly fans will be able to get his new single “Genius,” starting September 24 via iTunes.

The release date was announced on Thursday by RCA.
